Caroline Dearnley
Principal Cello
Though best known as a chamber
musician, Carolines career encompasses many aspects of music making.
The Times described her recent concerto appearance at the South Bank as
an exquisitely crafted performance. She remains the founder
Principal Cello with Britten Sinfonia and has been in demand as guest
principal cello with many orchestras including the Philharmonia, London
Sinfonietta and the English Chamber Orchestra.
Caroline is a member of the Joachim Trio which is well known to BBC Radio
listeners and which has recorded extensively for Naxos, gaining the Editors
Choice accolade from Gramophone magazine for their first CD of French
music.
For several years, Caroline has particularly enjoyed collaborating with
Robert Cohen at his annual festival of chamber music in the mediaeval
