Miranda Dale
Principal Second Violin
Born in the North East of England, Miranda gained a
scholarship at age sixteen to study at the Royal Academy of Music. Piano
trio masterclasses at the Banff Centre of Fine Arts, Canada, led to two
years of tuition at Indiana University where her solo studies were complemented
by coaching for her scholarship quartet.
Miranda lives in London but her solo, chamber, educational and orchestral
commitments take her worldwide. Alongside her recital and concerto appearances
which she often combines with local masterclasses, she is Principal Second
Violin with Britten Sinfonia, Second Violin with Britten Sinfonia Soloists
and is a member of the Philharmonia First Violin section. Regularly coaching
at the Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music in New Hampshire she has also
appeared as violinist with the Apple Hill Chamber Players on tours throughout
the U.S. and on their Playing for Peace missions in the Middle East. Her
Ananda Piano Trio, based in the U.S. and performing in festivals from
Texas to California, is embarking upon a series of recordings of British
music.
Miranda is an Associate of Royal Academy of Music, in recognition of her
contribution to the music profession.
